Where To Eat

One of the nicest surprises about Serbia is the quality and diversity of food. Dining out, whether in high end restaurants or a stand up hole-in-a-wall is very enjoyable and usually excellent value. This is my list of favorites. Please remember if you are going some place fancy you will want to call for reservations. Places book up fast and have limited space. This list is in no particular order and I suggest you start a list of your own favorites once you have been to a few.

Restaurants

Zodiac - Although the pizza is inconstant, the Cesar salad and souffle are always a home run. Super convenient for ISB students.
Address: 48a Vase Pelagica St., Senjak
Phone:011/2647-674

Byblos - Excellent Lebanese food. Ask the waiter to bring you the vegetarian mezze. It's a meal in itself and great way to try all the appetizers. They also opened a sandwich take away at Kalenic Market.
Address: 6 Nebojsina st. Vracar
Phone: 011/244-19-38

Mala Fabrica Ukusa - Outstanding new Serbian cuisine. If you are going to eat real Serbian food, this is the place to go. Sit outside and enjoy the green space in the little park it's located.
Address: Nebojsina 49a
Phone: 011/243-5727

Lorenzo & Kakalamba - This Serbian Italian menu has something for everyone. You won't be focused on the food though becasue you will be looking at the crazy interior which include goats hanging from the ceiling and chairs shaped like butts.
Address: Cvijiceva 110
Phone: 011/329-5351

Iguana - One of the nice restaurants serving Asian fusion food located along the river. Live jazz on weekends.
Address: Karadjordjeva 2-4
Phone: 011/328-3747

Toro - Located right next to Iguana this Latin themed restaurant has excellent tasting plates from South and Central America. Surprisingly, they also have some amazing sushi rolls.
Address: Ulica Karadjordjeva 2-4
Phone: 011/303-4342

Ebisu Japanese Restaurant - This restaurant is located in the 5 star hotel Square Nine. Ebisu is a pricey but outstanding Japanese sushi and teppanyaki restaurant on the top floor. They import their fresh fish daily and have a customs clearance location on the spot to ensure the freshness.
Address: Studenstki trg 9
Phone: 011/333-3575

Frans - This restaurant makes you feel like you are dining in a European village. Perfect place for a meal out with Mom and Dad. The waiters are some of the most experienced in the Balkans and are happy to make recommendations.
Address: Bulevar Oslobodjenja 18a
Phone 011/264-2439

Intergalactic Diner - When you are feeling the need for American food that is not Mcdonalds, RUSH HERE. Some of the best burgers in Belgrade complete with onion rings and cheddar fries. The milkshakes are pretty good too. I DARE you try the hot sauce (you must ask the waiter for it).
Address: Internacionalnih Brigada 22 or Bulevar Nikole Tesle 3
Phone: 011/243-4444 or 011/405-8686
