Shopping Hot Spots

Overview

Belgrade is not London or Paris, but with some looking you can find a wide range of different apparel for men and women. Most of the shopping is centered around three areas. The downtown walking street Knez Mihailova and Trg Republika is the heart of the city. Shopping here is probably the best in the city if not the country but it requires a longer period of time to cover the extended shopping street. There are international brands like Hugo Boss, Benetton, Diesel, Nike, Adidas and Gap. Be prepared to pay up to 20% more than you would in your home country. European brands like Zara, Springfield, Replay, Pull-and-Bear, and Scotch and Soda are good values compared to prices in other European capitals. During sale season first quality apparel is sometimes as much as 70% off original prices. Brands like New Yorker and Terra Nova offer bargain price points all year round and t-shirts can be found for 200-300 dinars which is around 3 euros.

Belgrade also has two large shopping mall, Usce and Delta City, both located in New Belgrade and accessible by bus 83 and tram 9. Up until recently Usce was the more popular mall with a full cinema and bowling alley. The bowling alley is still closed but a new Cineplex has opened. With the opening of a giant H&M at Delta City and the multi-plex theater a lot of traffic has moved to Delta City.
